30 Table Join Across 30 Different Systems Shocks the IT World

The most disruptive computer technology ever built was not from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Teradata, Amazon, or Snowflake. Instead, it comes from a small company named Coffing Data Warehousing, founded in 1994 by Tom Coffing, based in Middletown, Ohio.
Today you will witness a 30-table join across 30 systems in our quest to revolutionize the computer industry. You can see the video below.
I got tired of being ripped off by database vendors. And I became furious with vendors who locked customers in and found creative ways to charge outrageous amounts of money.
So I decided to do something about it.
My life changed when I heard Steve Jobs state, “Software beats hardware every time.”
In 2004, I knew what I was about to attempt was nearly impossible, but I figured it would be me if anyone could do it. I was a programmer in my early days, became a teacher of all databases with over 1,000 classes taught worldwide, and wrote 85 books on all databases.
My team and I called the product Nexus because its destiny was to become the intersection between all databases.
Although we began the project with only 20 employees in the company, we had two things going for us. First, time was on our side because we knew it would be decades until companies needed to integrate multiple systems and even more time until they integrated dozens, if not hundreds, of systems. Secondly, we knew no other vendor would have this insight until it was too late.
So we started by building a query tool to query all systems, an IT and business user’s dream. We allowed users to see their tables visually, point-and-click on columns they needed on the report and built the SQL automatically for every system.
We then automated the table structure conversion and mastered each vendor’s load utilities to automate migration across all systems.
And then, we topped it off by automating federated queries across all platforms.
The next time your database vendor takes advantage, you can begin migrating at your own pace to another platform. While migrating, you can join data across both systems.
And it only took us 20 years of non-stop work to get it done! So wait to see what we have coming over the next five years.
The video below will show Nexus performing migrations and joining 30 tables spanning 30 systems in a single query.
