Tera-Tom here! The famous poet Robert Frost once said, “Two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

My company not only took the road less traveled by, but we took the road nobody else had ever traveled on! I hope your company will decide that this is the best path for you.

We decided that the smartest road that we could travel is to take the power of big data away from the big vendors and the big servers and instead package that power inside every user’s PC. Why would we do this? As the future of big data and cloud computing continues to evolve it is the smartest, most powerful and least expensive road that every company can take.

Most large companies are using a combination of Teradata, Oracle and SQL server systems and most companies have begun a path toward combining on-premises traditional systems with cloud computing and Hadoop systems. Unfortunately, most companies are still providing users with a wide variety of free tools where each user has to write the SQL by hand. Users don’t know the underlying indexes and users don’t know what tables and views can be joined. And forget about integrating information from different systems. A data scientist is needed to perform these advanced functions. But now you can put everyone on the same page with the data scientist.

We invested 15 years and millions of dollars to produce over 5 million lines of code that we call the Nexus Chameleon. Now, everyone in the company is as data savvy as a data scientist. Companies generally have only a few data scientists and tens of thousands of users, but with Nexus every company has tens of thousands of data scientists, who are also IT and business experts!

With Nexus, you can write the SQL by hand if you choose, but you have so many more options. Imagine if users could join tables and views from Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata in a single query! Imagine if users could see their tables and views visually, and in color, and then see what joins to what. Imagine how powerful it would be if users could see the relationships, click on the columns they need on their report and have the SQL automatically built for them.

I think the most amazing achievement is that we have been able to integrate Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata systems into one giant virtual system. Nexus allows every user to join tables, move data, migrate table structures, compare and synchronize and graph and chart data between these systems as if they were one big system. Amazingly, all of this is done through Nexus with a few clicks of the mouse.

I know what you are probably thinking when it comes to cross-system joins, data movement and integration. Performance must be a nightmare because data must be traveling through the user’s PC. Not at all! The Nexus builds the SQL and the ETL scripts to move data and perform cross-system joins, but it is Nexus that commands the Oracle system, the SQL Server system and the Teradata system to talk directly to one another, without any data going through the PC. The only data coming to or through the PC is the answer set! Performance tuning is a key strategy.

And speaking of answer sets. We take performance tuning to an entirely new level because the Nexus “Garden of Analysis” allows every answer set to be re-queried, joined to other answer sets, graphed and charted in dashboards and shared with peers. Why not get answer sets from several systems and then build Ordered Analytics, Ranks, Quantiles, Grouping Sets, Cubes and Rollup reports? Because Nexus does all of the Garden processing inside the user’s PC there is enormous money, time and network traffic saved. It is like having Excel on steroids!

When your company is ready to take the road less traveled, please contact me for a demo! My personal information is below. I really appreciate the opportunity to work with you.

Sincerely,

Tom
