2-Minutes to Cloud Migration and World Domination

Yesterday – My Netezza troubles seemed so far away.
Since IBM bought them now, they’re here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, I’m not half the man I used to be.
Why can’t I migrate off so easily?
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Not only can you migrate off of Netezza in a heartbeat, but you can migrate to and from all systems. Listen to the story of how we created the greatest invention in data.
You have data in about 18,000 places, and if you could integrate the right data, you are minutes away from world domination.
The most difficult thing about dealing with data is getting competing database vendors’ systems to move data to another system. Each vendor creates their tables (DDL) drastically differently, has different data types, and uses proprietary load utilities that look like Greek.
A few years ago, the world’s greatest data scientist, a friend of mine, took 30 days to convert 30 tables from SQL Server to Teradata, which was considered fast.
I began leading a development team nearly 20 years ago, named Nexus, with the idea to build a query tool that would compete with Teradata’s Queryman, which later became SQL Assistant, now called Teradata Studio.
We immediately sold Nexus to large Teradata customers, who asked for new features constantly. Finally, Teradata panicked and began giving away SQL Assistant to customers for free because Nexus was so much better, and Teradata feared losing control of the account.
We then began to add new data sources such as Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2. That is the beginning of Nexus becoming a great query tool for legacy systems.
And 15 years ago, we began the impossible task of data migration between each of these systems, and it was a nightmare, but we continued to test, make adjustments, and improve the process.
It has been almost 20 years, but now Nexus can query, migrate, and federate data across over 25 relational database platforms, including legacy, cloud, open-source, Excel, and Microsoft Access.
Because we also spent years of research mastering the SQL differences on each platform, we built the Nexus Super Join Builder. Nexus showed business users tables and views visually, and Nexus built the SQL for the user as they clicked on the columns they wanted on their report.
Today, Nexus is the best query tool for all systems, but the brilliance comes from our Super Join Builder, which works on all systems. However, by combining our master of data migration, the secret sauce of Nexus, our customers can join data across systems as easily, quickly, and efficiently as joining tables on a single system.
It would be best to consider Nexus as the query tool for every user in your company, then consider using it as your migration tool, and then realize the benefits of joining data no matter where it resides. I am comfortable saying that you will dominate your industry.
Watch the video below and see how easily Nexus migrates data. And then realize that Nexus migrates to and from every system.
