In the old days of IT, we only queried one system. Still, I always believed that data would become so valuable that we would soon need to access many databases and seamlessly join data across them.

In our tests, we could join 30 tables spanning 30 systems in a single query, and it took minutes to set up. Because we have mastered this technology, there is really no limit to the number of systems or tables involved.

Even experienced data professionals don’t know that even if you join two tables on a single system, the joining rows must physically join in memory like Lego blocks to produce the answer set.

If you want to join an Oracle table with a Teradata table, the Nexus Super Join Builder will show you both tables visually. You pick the columns you want on the report and the columns to join on. If you choose the hub of Oracle, it automatically converts the Teradata table to an Oracle table, moves only the data required to perform the join, and changes the SQL to Oracle SQL. The SQL runs on Oracle, and the Teradata table moved is dropped once you receive the answer set.

If you choose Teradata as the hub, the Oracle table is moved, and the SQL changes automatically to Teradata.

But even more brilliantly, you can choose your PC or laptop as the hub, and Nexus brings the Oracle and Teradata table back to your PC and performs the join using your memory and CPU.
